Mixed Fortunes for Southdown Teams

22-October-2009

This past week has been a week of mixed fortunes for the Southdown teams.

In the East Grinstead High 5's Netball League, Southdown Penguins did not have  a game this week but Southdown Eagles beat Dolly Mixtures 13-3.

A fantastic game with special mention to Lucy Simmonds who dodged well into spaces,Emma Lloyd for fantastic shooting ,Imogen Evans for superb marking, Alice Coxall who gave 100% for all four Quarters and Amy Collins for 100% effort and great shooting

In the Sussex Junior Netball League Southdown Stingray had an emphatic win in the U14 section against Brighton by 50 -15. Katie Booker and Becky Lloyd were in top form in the circle with Katie scoring 26 goals and Becky 24 goals. This was an all round team effort with all players putting in good performances.

Our U12 team, Southdown Hawks lost out to a very strong Brighton team.

In the Senior section on Monday night Southdown Lynx drew with CD Phoenix Purple in Division 2.

Southdown Jaguars overcame First Choice by 30 goals in Division 3. This result keeps Jaguars at the top of the league.

Sam Jennings was dominant at centre. Defenders Ashleigh Dollemore and Laura Parks kept First Choice at bay and limited the amount of shooting opportunities. Excellent movement in the opposition circle from Siobhan Starks and Abi Holt and good feeding from Melisa Corby at WA created a great number of goal scoring chances which resulted in a convincing win for Jaguars. Player of the Match was awarded to Tracey Dollemore.

All teams now have a deserved half term break.
